Market Segment: Dietary Supplement

One of the fastest growing supplement ingredients, probiotics have thrived at 19% CAGR between 2008 and 2014, thanks to consumer awareness about the positive impact these beneficial bacteria have on digestive health. Demand continues to expand as new benefits and applications are discovered. In fact, the projected sales growth for both adult and pediatric probiotics is expected to outpace the total vitamin and dietary supplement market by 5-10% CAGR.

Despite this enthusiasm, today’s supplement users still voice concerns about the products they use. Creating probiotic supplements that stand out from the crowd is often a real challenge. A stable and efficient delivery system is critical to retaining a loyal customer base. Putting product performance at the heart of communication can also help brands to win more consumers, and even extend into new markets and applications.

This webinar will highlight:

  • New supplement trends for probiotics and digestive health;
  • Market drivers and challenges;
  • The latest developments and innovations in dosage forms and solutions;
  • How to engineer superior product performance.

Presented by:

  • Monica Feldman, Head of Industry Research, Consumer Health, Euromonitor International
  • Missy Lowery, Senior Marketing Manager, Capsugel
  • Pete Zambetti, Director of Global Business Development for Health & Nutrition, Capsugel

Market Segment: Pharmaceutical

In early formulation development of low solubility drugs, it is critical to identify the appropriate technology and produce promising formulations with a minimal input of time, money, and API. In this webinar, we will highlight select in vitro tests, as well as an absorption calculator interface that can accelerate formulation selection and design.

The amorphous solubility test is a rapid assay for determining the amorphous solubility of a drug, and the ability of polymers and/or surfactants to prevent crystallization from the supersaturated state. The membrane flux test is a rapid method for determining the free drug concentration for complex formulations.

In this webinar, we will present data from these and other in vitro analyses that can be examined in the context of in vivo absorption with an early-phase absorption calculator. Join us to learn how leading scientists formulate and screen amorphous solid dispersions.
